Meet Madihah Javed
Nursery Manager
I’m Madihah Javed, and I am proud to be the Nursery Manager at Sherwood Green Gateway. With over 10 years of experience in early years education, a Level 3 qualification in Childcare, and additional management qualifications, I bring both passion and expertise to my role.
I am deeply committed to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child feels safe, supported, and inspired to learn. At Sherwood Green Gateway, we believe in the power of strong relationships, and I work closely with families and my dedicated team to ensure that every child reaches their full potential.
For me, childcare is more than just education; it’s about fostering confidence, curiosity, and joy in every child. My hands-on approach, combined with a creative vision for early years learning, helps make Sherwood Green Gateway a special place for children and their families.
I look forward to welcoming you and your little one to our nursery community!
With a Level 3 qualification in Childcare and studies in Leadership and Management for the Children and Young People’s Workforce, I bring a mix of experience and a drive for continuous improvement to my role. I’ve worked with children of all ages and understand the importance of tailoring care and education to meet the unique needs of every child.
At Sherwood Green, I’m committed to building strong partnerships with families and creating a space where children can develop confidence, curiosity, and joy. I’m proud to lead a team that shares my dedication to providing high-quality early years education.
Outside the nursery, I enjoy spending time with my three boys and traveling to experience new cultures and ideas, which often inspire creative approaches to childcare.

Caterpillars Baby Room
Our Caterpillars Baby Room is a nurturing and welcoming space thoughtfully designed to make every baby feel safe, happy, and secure. The warm and cosy atmosphere provides a perfect environment for little ones to explore the world around them and engage in sensory activities that support their early development. From stimulating textures to soothing sounds, every detail encourages curiosity and learning, while ensuring babies feel comfortable and cared for. This inviting space helps them settle with ease, fostering a sense of trust and belonging as they take their first steps on their developmental journey.
Butterflies Toddler Room
An engaging and stimulating environment where toddlers are encouraged to explore, play, and grow. This space is designed to support their development of essential social, emotional, and physical skills through fun, hands-on activities and meaningful interactions. It fosters curiosity, independence, and confidence, helping toddlers build the foundation for lifelong learning while forming positive relationships and discovering the world around them.
Busy Bees Pre-School Room
A vibrant and engaging space thoughtfully designed to prepare preschoolers for the next stage of their learning journey and their transition to school. Here, children develop independence, enhance problem-solving abilities, and build a strong foundation in early literacy and numeracy skills. The environment encourages curiosity, creativity, and confidence, ensuring they are well-prepared for the challenges and opportunities of starting school.
Our Outdoor Spaces
We are proud to offer three unique outdoor spaces designed to inspire exploration, discovery, and learning for children of all ages.
Our main garden is a vibrant, purpose-built area where children can engage in fun and stimulating activities daily. Under the guidance of our experienced educators, children explore scientific concepts, develop fine and gross motor skills, and participate in sensory-rich experiences.
For our youngest children, we provide a safe, natural environment that encourages sensory exploration and physical development. Babies enjoy fresh air and outdoor learning in spaces tailored to support their early developmental milestones, allowing them to experience the outdoors safely while fostering their curiosity.
For toddlers and pre-schoolers, our outdoor areas act as an extension of their nursery rooms, offering endless opportunities for discovery, teamwork, and play in nature.
Our outdoor spaces give children plenty of opportunities to explore, create, and learn in a natural and exciting environment. Made from safe, toxic-free wood sourced from local trees and featuring real grass, these areas are perfect for children of all ages.
Our large, magical garden has fun features like a mud kitchen for messy play, a music area to explore sounds, a big sandpit for digging and building, and a cosy book area for relaxing with stories. These spaces spark curiosity, help children grow their physical and sensory skills, and encourage teamwork as they enjoy the outdoors.
Designed to extend learning beyond the classroom, our outdoor spaces build confidence, independence, and a love for nature, making them a special part of the Sherwood Green Gateway experience.

Tuesday
Mindfulness (Butterflies/Busy Bees)
Our Mindfulness class provides valuable tools for children to talk about their feelings, share experiences, and listen to others. These sessions teach vital life skills while fostering a sense of wonder and inquisitiveness, creating a strong foundation for lifelong well-being.
Wednesday
Dance and Sport Classes

Robot Reg (Busy Bees)

Cookery Classes (All rooms)

New Experiences at Sherwood Green
We are providing children with enriching experiences that foster their development and enhance their learning. From exciting trips to farms and local attractions to welcoming special visitors, we create endless opportunities for children to explore and learn about the world around them.
Our children enjoy visits from fascinating guests such as owls, a petting farm, firefighters, a dentist, and police officers, all designed to broaden their understanding of different roles in the community. Every year, they also witness the wonder of nature first hand by observing the life cycle of a butterfly and watching ducklings or chicks hatch from their eggs.
These hands-on experiences inspire curiosity, deepen their understanding of the natural world, and create lasting memories, ensuring that every child has the chance to grow, discover, and thrive.
