Our Moo Music Sensory Classes, led by Farmer Sally, are specially designed for babies and toddlers. Farmer Sally is an experienced primary school teacher, certified Baby Massage & Yoga instructor, Tummy Time Practitioner, and one of the world’s first Infant Developmental Play Practitioners! Each session is thoughtfully crafted to engage babies and toddlers, using unique, high-quality music created by a West End writer and producer. This original, studio-recorded music captures young minds, stimulating their senses and sparking their imaginations through exciting, themed activities.

What Is Makaton?

Makaton is a language programme that uses signs and symbols to support spoken language. Each sign or symbol represents a word or phrase, following the natural order of spoken words. This approach helps reinforce language and makes communication clearer for children as they develop their language skills.

Who Is Makaton For?

Makaton is a valuable tool for children and adults at early stages of communication, speech, and language development. It’s widely used in the UK, especially among individuals with communication and learning difficulties. Makaton supports these individuals in communicating effectively with others, including family, educators, health professionals, and friends.
Makaton is also beneficial for children who are learning English as an additional language, as its structured approach aids in grasping the fundamentals of spoken English with visual reinforcement.
At Sherwood Green Nurseries, we’re committed to using Makaton to create an inclusive, supportive environment where every child can express themselves and connect meaningfully with those around them.
