Starting the journey of choosing a day nursery can feel like a big step, and we understand that it might bring up lots of questions and concerns as you navigate this important decision. That’s why we’ve put together this list of Frequently Asked Questions to help guide you and provide the information you need to feel confident and reassured.

To book a place, schedule a personal tour by contacting our Nursery Managers via telephone or email. A £60.00 administration fee secures your spot and covers settling-in sessions.

After securing your place, you will receive a registration pack to fill out, which can be completed online or on paper.

Yes! We offer a tailored settling-in period, including the 3 settling-in sessions, to help your child adjust and meet their Key Person.

The first session (1 hour) is with you and your child.

The next two sessions (1.5 hours each) are for your child to spend time with us, helping them adjust and feel comfortable.

You'll receive updates via the Blossom Parent App.

A Key Person is a dedicated member of staff assigned to your child. They are responsible for ensuring your child’s emotional well-being, tracking their development, and providing you with regular updates. They are your main point of contact for any questions or concerns and work closely with you to support your child’s learning journey.

Your Key Person, along with a buddy Key Person, ensures your child has continuity of care, even during staff absences.

We use the Blossom Educational Parent App to keep you connected with your child’s day. This secure app provides real-time updates, including photos, videos, and detailed notes on your child’s activities, meals, and nap times.

The app also allows you to actively participate in your child’s learning journey by sharing your own observations, milestones, and suggestions with their Key Person.

Yes, we provide funded places for:

  • 9-month-olds (eligible criteria apply).
  • 2-year-olds (15 hours for eligible families).
  • 3-4-year-olds (15 or 30 hours depending on eligibility).

Yes, all our staff are DBS-checked as part of our hiring process, and checks are renewed every two years. Additionally, most of our team hold Level 3 childcare qualifications or higher. Staff who are not yet qualified are actively studying toward their Level 3 certification, ensuring they meet the highest standards.

Our ratios follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) guidelines:

  • 0-2 years: 1 adult : 3 children
  • 2-3 years: 1 adult : 4 children
  • 3+ years: 1 adult : 8 children (or 1:13 if an Early Years Teacher or Practitioner is present).

These ratios ensure your child receives the attention and care they need.

  • Breakfast: 7:30-8:30 am
  • Morning Snack: 10:00 am

Yes, a £60.00 deposit is required to secure your child’s place (£30.00 for siblings). This deposit ensures your child’s spot and includes settling-in sessions to help them adjust to the nursery environment.

To book an extra session for your child, simply send us an email with the details of your request, including the preferred date and time. Our Nursery Manager will confirm availability and update your child’s schedule accordingly.

Yes, nursery fees are charged for Bank Holidays and any days your child is absent. This is because your child’s place is reserved exclusively for them, and operational costs remain the same regardless of attendance.
